The broad guidelines for the academic and administrative policies of the institute are laid down by a Governing Council chaired by Shri G. Rangaswamy, the Managing Trustee of the GRG Trust (see the list of members here). The Secretary of the GRG Institutions, Smt Nandini Rangaswamy guides the overall administrative policies, regulations, programmes and activities. The Director of GRGSMS is responsible for the management and administration of the institution.

An Academic Advisory Body (see the list of members here) of expert persons from various fields, chaired by Smt. Nandini Rangaswamy, Secretary of GRG Institutions, is responsible for advising the Governing Council and the Director.

A Board of Management Studies (see the list of members here), chaired by the Director, is responsible for all academic policies and processes of GRGSMS.
